CMPRO System Requirements
The following is provided as a summary overview of the technical architecture and system requirements needed to run CMPRO. Each component in the architecture must be acquired and maintained separately from CMPRO.
Note that the use and placement of the “firewall” component of this diagram may vary depending on the type of implementation (e.g. Internet vs. Intranet).
Server and Client Software Technologies Required for CMPRO:
Database Server. CMPRO requires Oracle Corporation’s Oracle Database server software (version 11g R2 or higher is required) and can be installed on any supported server operating system. The database server hardware should have at least 4GB of disk space for CMPRO Oracle table spaces and should have enough RAM to support the desired user base (see Oracle for RAM recommendations). For non-hosted solutions, the customer site should have personnel trained and assigned to Oracle Database Server Administration.
ColdFusion Server. CMPRO requires Adobe ColdFusion Enterprise Edition software (version 9@64-bit is required). Sites with high numbers of attached files will require 80GB or more of disk space (for temporary file-moving space). Additional server hardware requirements should be obtained from Adobe for the desired platform. For non-hosted solutions, the customer site should have personnel trained and assigned to Adobe ColdFusion Server administration.
Web Server. CMPRO requires a web server to work with the ColdFusion server (see above) to provide browser-based access to users. PSA uses Apache 2+ for in-house CMPRO implementations. Please refer to Adobe ColdFusion documentation for other supported web servers (IIS, etc.). For non-hosted solutions, the customer site should have personnel trained and assigned to web server administration.
Secured File Server(s). CMPRO manages electronic file attachments associated with CMPRO data. In order to provide this functionality, one or more secured FTP servers are required (secured meaning that no direct-user access to the FTP server is required for use with CMPRO; all file movement is handled via the ColdFusion server working in concert with the FTP server; the server and its connections should be configured accordingly for optimal security). The hardware for the file server(s) should be sufficient for the desired user base, and for smaller implementations can be combined with the database server. For non-hosted solutions, the customer site should have personnel trained and assigned who understand SFTP/SSH administration for the server that will be providing this service.
Client Computer/Device. CMPRO client access requires a network-connected computer/device with a compatible web browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer 8+, Mozilla Firefox 4+, Apple Safari 5+, Google Chrome 11+, or similar). Additional hardware/software may be required for secure access to some systems (e.g. digital certificate). The customer site should have personnel trained and assigned to client computer/device administration.
